Pasaka means hope for progress, health, and luck for the coming year.
The Pasaka Festival starts on August 1st and culminates on Assumption day (15th August), the day the Virgin Mary, the town’s patron Saint, was said to go to heaven). People from all over the world come to join this popular festival in Tanauan, Philippines and everyone is welcomed by the locals into their own homes.
